The Slovenia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, will be a floating vision, highlighting the country’s position as a green, diverse, smart and sustainable gem in the heart of Europe. The structure in the Sustainability District will make innovative use of glass, steel and water to give visitors the impression they are surrounded by a forest suspended in the air.

In order to conjure up the best possible conditions for audible enjoyment, we will use an innovative approach in the acoustic design and implementation of acoustic elements.

The Institute of Ethnomusicology, is the oldest institute of the Scientific Research Center of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts

The challenging task was to replace obsolete equipment and implement new state-of-the-art equipment for capturing and restoring audio recordings. The heart of the system is the Cedar Cambridge IV with processes for restoring and processing audio recordings. Implemented equipment includes: Burl Audio DAC and ADC, Magix Sequoia, VanDamme cables and for field work Sound Devices, Schoeps, Sony, Hawk-Woods.

The Institute of Ethnomusicology, in addition to regular research work and publishing research results, the institute’s activity is mainly the improvement, storage and publication of archival material in digital forms and the storage of audio material as an important cultural heritage of the country.

The National Assembly, is the highest representative and legislative body in the Republic of Slovenia. For the last 25 years has been recording all events and sessions on tape. The archive comprises more than 80.000 hours of audio recordings that need to be digitized.
